Ready to Serve Your Family!

Denise Leville, parent and family coach working with a family

Hi, I’m Dr. Denise Leville, creator of The Parent and Family Coaching Center

I have been coaching and counseling families for more than 25 years, and have engaged with all kinds of parents with all kinds of kids!

When I introduce myself to parents at a workshop or coaching consultation, I often wonder what they would like to know about me. I think every parent that I have ever worked with has wanted to know if I have kids. Fortunately, since I have been coaching parents, I have been a parent myself! I have three unique and beautiful adult children, and everyday, I feel joyful and grateful that I got to be their Mom. They are living strong, independent, meaningful lives and I am amazed at the adults they have become… I better not say more because they might get annoyed with my bragging. If after learning about our workshops and coaching programs, you have questions, email me or schedule a free initial consultation. Helping parents on their parenting journey is my mission in life!

Now for some specifics about Dr. Denise Leville’s education and training:

I graduated from Boston University with a BA in psychology, and after graduating, I worked as a Human Resources Manager at Showtime and then NBC in New York City. That was quite a crazy, intense work experience! I grew up in a little town in New Hampshire and found myself in the Big City working in the television industry!

I started a doctoral program in psychology at the University of Connecticut several weeks after my oldest daughter was born, and I had two other babies during this time in graduate school. Thank goodness my kids’ dad was fantastic with the kids and had a flexible work schedule because the saying that “parents can have it all” is mostly a myth. Parenting is very much about managing priorities, balancing many wants and needs, and staying child-centered!

I earned my PhD in psychology in 2003 and have worked in community mental health centers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, a New Hampshire-based private practice, and my own coaching businesses. Throughout my life, I have been interested in family dynamics, effective parenting, and home environment’s influence on children’s development.

I am lucky to have always worked in jobs that were meaningful to me; really I have always done work that was good for me as I helped others live strong lives. All through my career, I have taught in higher education, both undergraduate students and graduate students. Teaching and creating courses is so much fun! There is so much energy and ideas garnered from the educational setting. This is one of the motivations for creating the parenting workshops for The Parenting and Family Coaching Center. I believe in the transformative potential of a group of people that share a mission!

The Parent and Family Coaching Center’s workshops and coaching practices have been developed throughout these years of engagement with all kinds of parents with all kinds of kids. We welcome all who are taking care of kids to join us for our workshops and coaching, and join in this mission to change the world!

I hope to meet you soon! Denise Leville, PhD

Fun Facts About Dr. Denise

When my three kids were young, my favorite part of the day was “the night routine!” Baths … reading … fruit snacks … stories & laughter … and lots of cuddling!

I wish I could live in my camper all year round … since I live in New Hampshire and it’s cold 5 months out of the year, I have to enjoy the outdoors during the warmer months!

I live in the same town with four generations of family and we have Friday Night Dinner together every week!

For my honeymoon, I hiked in the Swiss Alps for 5 weeks! We followed a book: Footloose in the Swiss Alps … what an amazing adventure.

All three of my kids went to college in New England … I was so excited to have them close! Then my oldest daughter graduated and went to live in the Dominican Republic for two years, my son moved to Florida for a while, and my youngest is living in Alaska! Thank goodness my son and oldest daughter are back in New England. We all love Alaska!
